Here are several ways in which your group or organization can sell tickets. We encourage you to be creative with your ideas for selling tickets and to find fun and exciting ways to get your friends, family, and the rest of your community involved. These are just a handful of ideas. Feel free to utilize some of these methods and be sure to think about other unique ways you and your team can use to sell tickets. And remember, we're here to help if you need assistance with anything!

Place a group poster and hand out information at all of your events

  • The more people who know about your fundraiser, the better chance you'll sell lots of tickets

Include the price of a game ticket with the registration fee for an activity, convention, or league

  • Also consider including the price of a game ticket with your group or organization's membership dues

Sell at existing fundraiser events for your team

  • Hold a car wash and offer tickets to customers as they pay for their wash.
  • Hold a bake sale and sell tickets at the booth as well.

Sell to local restaurants and business

  • Approach local restaurants, merchants, small businesses, banks, and retail stores and ask if they will purchase a group of tickets to support the group's fundraising efforts.
  • Ask to speak to the manager or owner and encourage them to purchase tickets to hand out to their employees, favorite customers, or friends and families.

Sell to friends and family members

  • Beyond your immediate family, talk to grandparents and cousins about supporting your team by purchasing tickets.
  • A group of your friends may enjoy attending a game with reduced price tickets.

Sell tickets during the team's games to fans

  • Set up a ticket booth at the entrance of the field or gym.

Sell tickets at school events

  • Sell them during pep rallies to fellow students.
  • Sell tickets during "Back to School Night" or "Parent Visiting Night" when parents are at the school.
  • Sell at schools plays and concerts.

Sell to parents and fans of youth players

  • Go to youth teams' games and ask their families to support the high school team by purchasing tickets.
  • Set up a booth at youth tournaments to sell to people from nearby towns.

Use the ticket sales program as an incentive to become a high-level supporter

  • For example, if someone donates a certain amount of money to become a Silver Booster, he/she will also receive the opportunity to purchase the discounted tickets from the team.

Helpful Sales Tips

• If applicable, wear your uniform when selling tickets so it's clear ticket buyers are supporting your team/group.

• Make it a group effort - go together to sell to local businesses, school events, and youth tournaments.

• Offer a letter of appreciation or thank you card to businesses and restaurants that support the team by purchasing tickets. They'll love to display proof of their community involvement.

• Set goals for the number of tickets to sell based on how much money is needed for uniforms, equipment, programs, etc.

• Even if your group/organization doesn't have immediate needs, begin fundraising for longer-term goals like new scoreboards, future events, etc.

• Continually assess how various types of selling efforts are going and focus on the most productive.
